The firrfly's lights are the most efficient lights in the world, because 100 percent of the energy is used for making light and no heat is produced.

Fireflies are nocturnal and produce a chemical in their bodies that allows them to glow in the dark. They love warm, most environments and are most commonly found  in the humid regions of Asia and the Americas.
You cand find fireflies on every continent except Antartica, And you night be surprised to know that fireflies are actually a kind of beetle.
It is thougt thar fireflies produce light mostly to attract mates, but they also use their lights to defend their terriroty and warm off predators.
They Ade about 2.000 different firefly species and most of them are dullish, dark brown colours.
Each species of firefly flashes a unique light pattern. In drier regions, they live around wet or damp areas such as marshes, lakes or steam.
